
Erica Keen

Erica Keen (she/they) is a Chinese, Gaelic and Ukrainian settler who has been a Registered Nurse since 2018 when she graduated from UBC’s accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. Prior to that, they lived in Ucluelet and worked as a youth counselor and program coordinator. She has a passion for initiatives that focus on increasing equity in the social determinants of health. Erica has worked as a consultant completing community based research, a coordinator for regional health projects in the Strathcona region and as a rural and remote community health nurse in northern Nuu-chah-nulth First Nations. Additionally, she has worked as a Public Health Nurse for Island Health. She is grateful for the chance to help steward the primary care initiative and work alongside Nuu-chah-nulth communities. When not working on systems change, Erica writes poetry, takes film photos, surfs and saunas in Nuu-chah-nulth territories where she lives with her partner and dog.
